Privacy notice for business outreach
Who I am
I'm Angelo Torrevillas, an AI Automation Specialist based in the Philippines. I'm responsible for the information described here. You can contact me at angelo.automates@gmail.com.
Why you may have heard from me
I contact a small number of businesses directly, by Instagram message or email, to offer website and business-process automation services. I only contact a business after looking at information it has made public, and only when something it has published suggests my services could be relevant.
What information I hold
Only what I need to decide whether to contact your business and to keep track of that contact.
- Your business name, Instagram handle or business email address, and the public pages I looked at.
- Public business details, such as your service area, the services you describe, and registration details from public registers (for example Companies House in the UK or the Australian Business Register).
- If I address a message to a named person, that person's name and business role as published by the business.
- The messages we exchange, and whether you've asked me not to contact you again.
I don't collect private or sensitive information. I don't buy contact lists, and I don't use software to collect contact details from websites.
Where it comes from
Information your business has published itself (your website, Instagram or other official profiles) and public business registers.
Why I use it, and on what basis
To identify businesses my services may genuinely help, to send a short first message and at most one follow-up, and to keep a record so I respect anyone who opts out. Under UK data protection law I rely on legitimate interests, which here means telling relevant businesses about my services in a limited, transparent way. I've considered whether this is fair to you, and I keep the contact minimal and easy to stop. In the UK, I only send unsolicited messages to incorporated businesses (such as limited companies and LLPs), not to sole traders or ordinary partnerships.
Who sees it
I don't sell or share your information. It's held in my own files and passes through the services I use to communicate, which are Instagram (Meta) for messages and Google (Gmail) for email. Those providers handle it under their own terms and may store it in various countries.
Where it's stored
I work from the Philippines, so your information is held and used outside the UK and Australia. My outreach records are kept on my own computer.
How long I keep it
- If you don't reply, I delete the outreach record within 6 months of my last message.
- If we talk about working together, I keep the conversation for as long as that's relevant, and then for up to 12 months.
- If you ask me not to contact you, I keep only the minimum (your business name or handle and the date) indefinitely, so that I never contact you again.
Your rights
You can ask me to stop contacting you, and I'll always do this straight away with no need to give a reason. You can also ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, delete it or restrict how I use it, and object to my use of it. Just reply to my message or email angelo.automates@gmail.com.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please email angelo.automates@gmail.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject, or reply to my message. I'll acknowledge it within 30 days, look into it without undue delay, and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or in Australia to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
I'll update this notice if how I handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
